Although the stylish Raffles in Applecross was filled to capacity,
we were extremely comfortable in our reserved alfresco area overlooking the Swan River.

This has always been a popular event in the past and Friday night was no exception,
with a great crowd attending.  Everyone loves the Raffles, so keep this event
in mind for a future night out with us!

Saturday 5th May

We met for pre-dinner drinks at The Royal on the Waterfront in East Perth,
with an enthusiastic crowd of 40 members mingling & chatting
and welcoming our new members to their 1st event whilst enjoying a glass of wine…

After an hour we strolled along the Claisebrook Canal to the all new Royal Cambodia.
This is a fabulous new restaurant and we feasted on a  delicious banquet, the servings
were plentiful, so would advise to visit this restaurant on an empty stomach!

We would highly recommend our members to try the Royal Cambodia
for themselves & will certainly repeat this event in the future.

The Cockburn Dragon Racing Club were our hosts on Sunday & we would like to
sincerely thank them once again, as this was such a popular event!

The East Fremantle Yacht Club is the ideal setting as it is a small
intimate club and provides us with excellent facilities… hot showers and the
perfect lunch outlook on the balcony overlooking the river.

We filled two boats with our 36 members attending & the team-work and synchronized paddling,
resulted in much competitive racing racing & spirit.  Everyone loved the whole experience and the weather
held out perfectly for us as well.  Keep an eye out for our next paddling event as with professional
instruction there is no experience required and is always a fun & easy teams event!

We had a fun Trivia Night at The Albion on Saturday,
with plenty of  tapas, drinks and questions to quiz us all & great prizes for our winners!

Our Quiz Master, Dennis, did a fabulous job hosting this event with us for our members to enjoy.

This is such a great venue for a casual catch-up with friends & so this Easter Sunday
afternoon was spent enjoying the company of new friendships, being introduced to each other,
as well as old friends coming together for this special Easter celebration…

Steve’s always does it well – the food was delicious, with seafood platters which everyone
enjoyed with a few glasses of champagne  to compliment it!

This was a very pleasurable afternoon.

Our Evening of Tapas at Kate Lamont’s intimate Wine Cellar in Cottesloe was a pleasure to attend.

The foyer filled with our members looking forward to the delicious array of endless
tapas served & the wonderful Lamont’s wine selections.

We were so well looked after by John, Kate’s husband, who has such extensive knowledge
of the full range of the best international & national wine producers.  Many of their wines
are imported direct from European cellars and what a selection they displayed!

The evening went on into the late of the night & concluded with
coffee & hand-made truffle chocolates… hmm

This latest boutique bar in the new Claremont Quarter, impressed us with the attention to detail & meticulous service.

It was a special night of friends coming together & new members meeting…

On arrival we were served drinks including a delightful Chandon as well as the renowned Cape Mentelle SSB
and delicious seafood platters & savouries were served to us in our private reserved
dining room adjoined to our own Alfresco area where we enjoyed the fresh evening air on this mild  Autumn evening.

A wonderful mood was created for so many to stay on through the early hours & the food continued into
the night finishing with the signature Duchess mini-burgers.

We had a wonderful evening on the back verandah, overlooking  the

sea of lights in the oriental garden at this quaint old Japanese house in Glyde St Mosman Park.

The traditional oriental ambiance was appreciated by all that attended the delicious Japanese banquet.
Intimate table of eight gave everyone a chance to chat and be introduced while sipping wines & sharing entrees…
Lots of fun & laughter made this a special night for everyone.
